What a great night at Hoople Elementary for our Legendary Learners Kickoff Event! 📚🚲

The “Sign Warrior” program is an education and outreach initiative through NDLTAP that helps educate students and communities about the importance of protecting road signs from vandalism, theft, graffiti, and damage. Through the program’s “SAVE OUR SIGNS” message, students learn how damaged signs can create dangerous situations for drivers, emergency responders, and community members.
As part of the program, students across North Dakota participate in a safety art contest, with winning artwork featured in the yearly safety calendar. We are incredibly proud of our student for representing our school with creativity, thoughtfulness, and a strong message about safety awareness!

We are so excited to kick off our Legendary Learners programming at Valley-Edinburg! Bring the bikes to town next Wednesday, May 20, from 4-5:30PM at the Hoople School - we'll be grilling hot dogs and handing out packets loaded with important summer learning resources that will help your child be school-ready come August. This programming extends all the way to children aged birth through 5, so please share with families who could be positively impacted by this opportunity!
The Valley-Edinburg National Honor Society chapter will be creating hygiene care kits for current and incoming junior high students for the 2026-2027 school year! They are currently collecting donations for travel-size toiletries. Donations can be received at any of our school offices. Check out their Amazon wishlist as well as another way to donate!
Our 4th Grade students travelled to Drayton today to launch their River of Dreams canoes!
River of Dreams is an engaging, hands-on watershed education program that helps elementary students explore how water connects our communities and environment. Through integrated lessons in science, geography, writing, and math, students learn about water systems, ecosystems, and how rivers flow across regions. As a culminating experience, students decorate and launch small wooden canoes carrying their own written “dreams” into a local river. Each canoe is labeled so its journey can be tracked if found downstream, giving students a real-world look at how water moves and connects places. This meaningful, place-based experience builds environmental awareness while making learning memorable and uniquely tied to North Dakota.
